Если ввести в Гугл "Maddow", Гугл предлагает "Maddow cries". По крайней мере, мне предлагает, у вас этот вариант может быть чуть дальше от первого места, но вряд ли далеко.

И на первом месте среди результатов по этому запросу стоит вот это видео. Это, значит, Мэддоу плачет, сообщая о том, что Мюллер завершил расследование.

The unremarkable conclusion of the Mueller probe has been a heavy blow for MSNBC host Rachel Maddow, who by some accounts shed tears live on television as she came to terms with her indictment-deficient reality.

The MSNBC host, who has devoted countless hours of airtime to gossiping about the alleged ties between President Donald Trump and the Kremlin, struggled to keep her composure while discussing the end of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation, which wrapped up on Friday without issuing any further indictments.

Странное предложение сторонника президента. Зачем жечь доклад, который, предположительно, устанавливает полную невиновность Трампа? Если серьезно, то Нунес, так же, как и мы все, не имеет понятия о содержании доклада.

А Трамп прервал молчание в Твиттере. Свой предыдущий рекорд в 48 часов молчания перед показаниями Коми Трамп не побил. Но молчание он прервал с неприсущей ему сдержанностью:

AG March 24 2019 Letter to House and Senate Judiciary Committees

В письме сообщается, что доклад Мюллера разделен на две части.

Russian Interference in the 2016 U.S. Presidential Election:

As report states: "The investigation did not establish that members of the Trump Campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities."

Obstruction of Justice:

After making a "thorough factual investigation" into these matters, the Special Counsel considered whether to evaluate the conduct under Department standards governing prosecution and declination decisions but ultimately determined not to make a traditional prosecutorial judgment. The Special Counsel therefore did not draw a conclusion - one way or the other - as to whether the examined conduct constituted obstruction. Instead, for each of the relevant actions investigated, the report sets out evidence on both sides of the question and leaves unresolved what the Special Counsel views as "difficult issues" of law and fact concerning whether the President's actions and intent could be viewed as obstruction. The Special Counsel states that "while this report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him."

Дальше Барр пишет, что раз Мюллер не принял решения, то решение должен был принять он. И вот, посовещавшись со всеми, Барр с Розенштейном решили, что "the evidence [...] is not sufficient to esteblish that the President committed an obstruction-of-justice offense."

Решение Мюллера по obstruction of justice

У меня есть много мыслей по поводу письма Барра. Если кратко, то ситуация после публикации этого письма выглядит еще более странно, чем она выглядела в пятницу, когда объявили об окончании расследования.

Но я обо всем этом напишу позже. Сейчас я хочу отметить только самое странное.

Мюллер решил не принимать решения ни обвинить Трампа в препятствии правосудию, ни не обвинять. Вместо этого, он в своем докладе изложил аргументы за и против и...

И что? И предоставил недавно назначенному Трампом AG принять это решение? При том, что Мюллер имел возможность обдумать все за и против в течении, как минимум, нескольких месяцев, а Барр имел... два дня?

How does it make any sense at all?

Или Мюллер имел в виду, что решение будет принимать Конгресс? Но Конгресс, вероятно, даже не получит unredacted копию доклада. И что, Мюллер не предполагал, что Барр сам (или с Розенштейном) примет решение?

Кто-то понимает логику этого решения Мюллера?
