О разделении детей и родителей

По-моему, это очень хороший пример того, о чем говорится в моей предыдущей записи, "Having it both many ways".

Тот же автор, Benjy Sarlin:

One WH faction seems to be lying about the family policy because they’re trolling (Trump), a separate faction is lying because they’re embarrassed by it (Nielsen), and a third faction is telling the truth because they’re proud of the policy (Sessions, Miller). Result: This.

It’s almost impossible to even debate the policy in this circumstance. If one side says it’s a deterrent, one side says it’s an unavoidable accident, and a third says it’s technically not happening, and they’re all the same side, there’s no way to actually discuss the merits.

И, опять же, если ты "умный трампист", ты самостоятельно выбираешь симпатичную тебе версию, и решаешь, что именно она и есть настоящей, а остальные -- шоу для дураков.

Безусловно. "Надо ли наказывать за пинок локтем" - это тоже обсуждение черт знает чего, как по мне. Поэтому я отвечать перестала.
А вот напоминание о том, что главное зло для правых государства - это отбирать детей за шлепок (illegal action) - это куда более релеватно.
