По-моему, это очень хороший пример того, о чем говорится в моей предыдущей записи, "Having it both many ways".

Тот же автор, Benjy Sarlin:

It’s almost impossible to even debate the policy in this circumstance. If one side says it’s a deterrent, one side says it’s an unavoidable accident, and a third says it’s technically not happening, and they’re all the same side, there’s no way to actually discuss the merits.

И, опять же, если ты "умный трампист", ты самостоятельно выбираешь симпатичную тебе версию, и решаешь, что именно она и есть настоящей, а остальные -- шоу для дураков.

Про «закон требует» по NPR не говорили, вы опять перепутали со звоном из жопы Трампа.
Речь шла не о законе, а о принятой администрацией Трампа политике «нулевой толерантности», из которой в свою очередь следует политика разделения семей.

What the administration argues is that when an adult is prosecuted, they go into federal custody. And any children in tow can't be detained in a federal lockup. So the separation is the results of the new zero tolerance policy, not a policy in and of itself.
