Я скопирую очень точную, на мой взгляд, цепочку твитов Тома Николса, в которой он описывает реакцию трампистов на доклад Мюллера. Эту же реакцию трампистов мы все могли и можем наблюдать в моем журнале.

Но я сначала отдельно приведу один из твитов цепочки, в котором, как мне кажется, содержится вся суть происшедшего; вся суть доклада:

The Russians attacked the election. The Trump campaign, right up to the top, thought that was awesome. They greeted it with "how can we work this" instead of "call the FBI." They lied, and lied, and lied some more. Amazing that the media got *any* of it right faced with that.

Теперь вся цепочка:

One interesting aspect of the Mueller Report is not what's in it, but how Trump's shills have reacted to it. They have taken two positions.
1. The report says exactly the opposite of what it says
2. The media totally screwed up this story.
Both are worth a moment here.

The first strategy is pure gaslighting, like Kellyanne demanding apologies. She's like the person who backs into you in the parking lot, gets out, and and demands your insurance info and says you'll be hearing from her lawyers while her BMW is lodged in the side of your Camry.

This is the strategy taken by people who know only the strategy of doubling down, of reacting with aggression, and who understand just how bad the news really is. They go on offense because...well, why the hell not? Bang the table. Might work. Rube Nation loves that stuff.

The other is a spate of tweets and articles about what "the media" got wrong, mostly focused on talking heads who (admittedly) went too far in believing the myth that Trump would be led across the South Lawn in handcuffs. But these stories, too, are a panic reaction.

They're from conservatives who really, really wanted to invalidate the entire MSM - as conservatives, who see themselves as anti-MSM insurgents, always do - and they thought the Report was their silver bullet. It wasn't In fact, it validated almost all of the MSM reporting.

Sure, there were clinkers, like McClatchy's "trip to Prague." But when your case against "the media" is something you pulled off a panel from CNN or MSNBC (and notice "the media" is never "Fox"), then you're admitting that you'd rather talk about anything but what happened.

Why are they freaking out? As @TheRickWilson said: "The most striking part of the last two days is how Donald Trump and his allies are acting like losers, more aggrieved, bitchy, and petulant than ever."
It's because they know. They always knew. And now it's in the open.

И я еще раз хочу обратиться к людям, как

ny_quant, по поводу "the media totally screwed up this story". Реальность противоположна тому, что вам подсовывают трамписты. Как я сказал в "Impeach the motherfucker" в день публикации доклада, в докладе мало принципиально нового, благодаря работе MSM в течении последних двух лет.

Вот отдельная статья -- "A Reader’s Guide to the Journalism Behind the Mueller Report" -- в которой перечислены major stories NYT и WaPo, которые были подтверждены в докладе Мюллера.

И это только часть таких публикаций. Например, история с Peter Smith, о которой я писал вчера в О "criminal fucking conspiracy". Это не новая для нас история, потому что более года, если не ошибаюсь, назад WSJ опубликовал статью о покойном Смите, его контактах с Флинном и попытках выйти на российских хаккеров. Конечно, в докладе Мюллера совсем другой уровень подробностей и определенности -- журналисты WSJ не могли допросить Флинна -- но сама история не является новостью.

Я уже писал, что новый AG, Барр, ведет себя не как AG, а как адвокат Трампа. Как тот же Джулиани. Принципиальное отличие состоит в том, что Джулиани не имеет никакой власти, а Барр недавно принял решение о невиновности Трампа.

При этом Барр не просто выступает адвокатом Трампа, он совершенно откровенно пытается обмануть американских граждан. О его пресс-конференции за полтора часа до публикации доклада (redacted) я сейчас говорить не буду, давайте посмотрим на знаменитое письмо Барра.

Как вы помните, Барр в своем письме привел несколько цитат из доклада Мюллера, при этом ни разу не процитировав полного предложения из доклада. Почему?

По-моему, совершенно невозможно прочитать это и не прийти к выводу, что Барр намеренно стремился создать у американских граждан ложное впечатление о выводах Мюллера.

Далее. Описывая часть доклада Мюллера on obstruction, Барр в письме говорит следующее:

The Special Counsel therefore did not draw a conclusion - one way or the other - as to whether the examined conduct constituted obstruction. Instead, for each of the relevant actions investigated, the report sets out evidence on both sides of the question and leaves unresolved what the Special Counsel views as "difficult issues" of law and fact concerning whether the President's actions and intent could be viewed as obstruction.

Но это вранье.

Kyle Cheney:

Here’s one aspect of Barr’s March 24th letter that Mueller plainly contradicted but didn’t get much attention today. I’m told House Dems may zoom in on it.

In at least a couple instances — the effort to have McGahn fire Mueller and the effort to enlist Lewandowski to pressure Sessions to end the Mueller probe — Mueller presented no mitigating alternative evidence.

In other words, there was no evidence on “both sides” of the question. Mueller laid out the three obstruction prongs and said substantial evidence showed Trump met each one. No innocuous theories offered.

As @qjurecic demonstrates, it's actually 8 instances in which Mueller says Trump met the all the criteria for an obstruction charge:
