One expert told NK News that he believed Tuesday’s agreement had “zero practical value.”

“We expected it would be a flop, but it’s floppier than anything we expected,” Andrei Lankov, a director at the Korea Risk Group – which owns and operates NK News – said. “The declaration is pretty much meaningless.”

“The Americans could have extracted serious concessions, but it was not done,” he continued. “The North Koreans will be emboldened and the U.S. got nothing.”

Любое из черт знает какого количества вчерашних/сегодняшних высказываний Трампа, будь оно сделано Обамой, вошло бы в пословицы и огромное число мемов, которые стали бы хитами на десятилетие вперед.

-- Ын любит свой народ;

-- совместные военные учения с Южной Кореей являются провокацией;

-- мы договорились о закрытии северокорейского полигона, но в итоговый документ записывать этого не стали, потому что времени не было...

И можно продолжать и продолжать. (Update: rsokolov продолжил в комментариях.)

Да что там Обама -- думаю, любому другому президенту, демократу или республиканцу, за одно единственное из этих (и других сегодняшних) трамповских высказываний очень сильно досталось бы.

Для Трампа, однако, "it's just another Monday/Tuesday".

The war games are very expensive; we paid for a big majority of them, we fly in bombers from Guam. That's a long time for these big massive planes to be flying to South Korea to practice and then drop bombs all over the place and then go back to Guam. I know a lot about airplanes, it's very expensive.

US Forces Korea:

In coordination with our [South Korean] partners, we will continue with our current military posture until we receive updated guidance from the Department of Defense ... and/or Indo-Pacific Command.

But wait, it gest better:

Sen. Cory Gardner, R-Colorado, told reporters on Capitol Hill that military "exercises will continue with South Korea" despite the president's assurances that such "war games" will halt in light of the agreement reached with Kim.

"I think what the vice president said today will continue to clarify what the president had talked about. Exercises will continue with South Korea. Look forward to further comment and clarification from the president when he gets here," Gardner told reporters.
