Что касается выискивания компромата, то с Полой Джонс возилась целая команда видных республиканцев в дополнение к ее адвокатам, именно с целью выискивания компромата на Клинтона и в попытке предотвратить мировое соглашение до импичмента. Это известно все, и весьма похоже на то, что делает сейчас Майкл Авенатти (только у Клинтона были плохие адвокаты, надо было 5-ю поправку выбирать - вот и вся разница).
Разница же между демократами тогда и республиканцами сейчас огромна: тогда демократы были приличными людьми, и предлагали вынести Клинтону официальный выговор (Censure), вместо импичмента - т.е. они сознавали нехорошесть его поведения и расхождения были только в форме наказания; сейчас же республиканцам в глаза ссы - все Божья роса, они в принципе не признают за Трампом никаких wrongdoings.
