Никки Хейли дала интервью CBS. В интервью она высказала удивление грядущим импичментом -- помощь же, в конце концов передали, за что ж импичмент? -- в общем, вполне позорное интервью, но другого, учитывая все, что мы уже знаем, вряд ли приходилось ожидать.

Но вот смешное место:

"Kelly and Tillerson sonfided in me that when the resisted the rpesident, they weren't being insubordinate, they were trying to save the country..."

And then the secretary of state Tillerson went on to tell you that the reason he resisted the president's decisions was because if he didn't people would die.

Никки Хейли дальше говорит, что это было возмутительно, антиконституционно, и не то, чего хочет американский народ... и, главное, вместо того, чтобы говорить об этом мне, Келли и Тиллерсон должны были говорить об этом президенту и уходить в отставку.

Но я не о Хейли. Я о Келли, Тиллерсоне, Маттисе и других. Повторю еще раз то, что уже говорил. Если эти ребята беспокоятся о судьбах страны и мира -- и они ведь явно стремятся создать у публики такое впечатление -- то какого черта они сейчас молчат?

Никого из вас уже нет в администрации. Трамп ведет себя все более безумно. Но вы молчите. Потому что то, что трамписты устроят против вас кампанию травли, перевешивает для вас "people will die"?

Who is Rudy Giuliani's friend "Charles"? An accidental text may have outed his identity

Начинается она с того, что Джулиани случайно послал автору статьи свой пароль. Серьезно. Хотя после того, как Джулиани дважды (!) butt dialed другому журналисту, и оставил в качестве voice mail свой частный разговор с другими людьми -- "Rudy Giuliani butt-dials NBC reporter, heard discussing need for cash and trashing Bidens" -- это не должно слишком удивлять.

Но дальше там о другом. Причем я об этом другом не знал.

Оказывается, что те 500 тысяч, которые Паранс заплатил Джулиани, он (Парнас) взял в долг у известного адвоката:

That personal injury firm is Gucciardo Law, headed by Charles Gucciardo. Last week Giuliani and Gucciardo confirmed to the New York Times that Gucciardo gave $500,000 to the former mayor through Giuliani’s firm, Giuliani Partners, in two payments in September and October 2018. According to Gucciardo’s lawyer, the payments went to Giuliani on behalf of Fraud Guarantee, a company co-managed by Giuliani’s clients Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman. Their work with Fraud Guarantee — whose mission statement is to help their customers “reduce and mitigate fraud” — helped earn them a federal indictment last month.

Gucciardo’s lawyer told the Times the funds were loans convertible into equity in the company. As the Times pointed out, though, Fraud Guarantee doesn’t seem to have any clients or customers, and it’s unclear why someone in Gucciardo’s position — an experienced lawyer — would invest half a million dollars in such a company. Per Gucciardo’s lawyer, he did so because Giuliani was involved, and Giuliani was “the first name in cybersecurity.”

In a conversation, Stephen LaMagna, a lawyer who represents Gucciardo, told me, “Mr. Gucciardo’s investment in the company was and remains a loan pursuant to executed promissory notes.” This means Gucciardo hasn’t been repaid and could sue if he believes he’s been defrauded. Parnas once pursued a similar scam, and still hasn’t paid despite a court ruling against him.

As for Giuliani’s relationship with Gucciardo, he told me, “Charles is a good man. The loan is due in mid 2020 and I am certain it will be honored as a conversion to stock or both or satisfied as he desires.” It is currently not clear whether a Fraud Guarantee public offering is in the works.

“Charles is my friend,” Giuliani added, “and he knows it will be done honorably.”

The first name in cybersecurity may or may not be Giuliani, but the first name in Gucciardo Law, of course, is the same one Giuliani believed would have a “hard time with fraud” in the voicemail: Charles.

Парнас, похоже, оказался "подлецом"

Лев Парнас, вернее его адвокат, говорит, что Парнас с Фруманом встретились с нынешним первым помощником Зеленского, Сергеем Шефиром, еще до инаугурации Зеленского. И во время этой встречи Парнас сказал Шефиру, что Зеленский должен будет объявить о расследовании Байденов, иначе ни Пенс на инаугурацию не приедет, ни одобренную Конгрессом помощь Украина не получит.

Парнас говорит, что передал это требование Зеленскому по прямому поручению Джулиани.

Пенс, кстати, на инаугурацию так и не приехал.

Giuliani Associate Says He Gave Demand for Biden Inquiry to Ukrainians

Not long before the Ukrainian president was inaugurated in May, an associate of Rudolph W. Giuliani’s journeyed to Kiev to deliver a warning to the country’s new leadership, a lawyer for the associate said.

The associate, Lev Parnas, told a representative of the incoming government that it had to announce an investigation into Mr. Trump’s political rival, Joseph R. Biden Jr., and his son, or else Vice President Mike Pence would not attend the swearing-in of the new president, and the United States would freeze aid, the lawyer said.

Джулиани отрицает, что просил Паранаса передать Зеленскому требование об объявлении о расследованиях: "Categorically, I did not tell him to say that."

Остальные участники встречи подтверждают факт встречи, но отрицают, что Парнас передал на ней Зеленскому это требование.

Фруман, вернее, опять же, его адвокат, некто John M. Dowd, который, если вы еще не забыли, по странному, точнее, совершенно не странному, совпадению ранее представлял Дональда Джей, Трампа, сообщил слеедующее.

A lawyer for Mr. Fruman, John M. Dowd, said his client told him the men were seeking only a meeting with Mr. Zelensky, the new president. “There was no mention of any terms, military aid or whatever they are talking about it — it’s false,” said Mr. Dowd, who represents Mr. Fruman along with the lawyer Todd Blanche.

In a statement on Friday, Mr. Shefir acknowledged meeting with Mr. Parnas and Mr. Fruman. But he said they had not raised the issue of military aid. Mr. Shefir said he briefed the incoming president on the meeting. Mr. Shefir was a business partner and longtime friend whom Mr. Zelensky appointed as his chief adviser on the first day of his presidency.

“We did not treat Mr. Parnas and Mr. Fruman as official representatives, and therefore we did not consider that they could speak on behalf of the U.S. government,” Mr. Shefir said. He added Mr. Parnas and Mr. Fruman had requested that Mr. Zelensky meet with Mr. Giuliani.

Что касается выделенной части, то ответ адвоката Парнаса, по-моему, выглядит совершенно логично. Какого черта Шефир вообще встречался с Парансом и Фруманом, если он не считал, что они "could speak on behalf of the U.S. government"? Какой смысл обсуждать с ними приедет ли Пенс на инаугурацию и т. п., если они просто два клоуна, представляющие самих себя?

Mr. Bondy, Mr. Parnas’s lawyer, challenged Mr. Shefir’s characterization. “It would simply defy reason,” he said, “for Mr. Shefir to have attended a meeting with Mr. Parnas if he did not believe Mr. Parnas spoke for the president, and also for Mr. Parnas not to have conveyed the president’s message at this meeting.”

Чем дальше, тем больше мне кажется, что saccovanzetti was onto something, когда он уже пару недель назад, по-моему, предлагал такую защиту Трампа: Сондланд, Волкер, Джулиани и прочие Паранс с Фруманом действовали в Украине сами по себе, а Трамп тут ни при чем.

Я уже не удивлюсь, если в какой-то момент "подлецом" окажется сам Джулиани, и Трмап скажет, что Руди мутил воду по собственной инициативе.

Я не хочу сказать, что это выигрышная линия защиты -- по-моему, все участники истории говорят, что Трамп направлял всех к Джулиани по всем связанным с Украиной вопросам -- но другой защиты может и не быть.
