Многие, наверное, укажут на "Nothing will be done until the Ukrainian & Syrian problems are solved!", как на свидетельство того, что Трамп в отношениях с Россией настроен по-боевому. И Трамп, конечно, рассчитывает на такое впечатление.

Однако, что значит "problems are solved"? Ясной формулировкой в случае Украины было бы "пока Донбасс и Крым не вернутся под контроль Ураины", а в случае Сирии -- "пока Асад не будет отстранен от власти", скажем. Ничего подобного Трамп, конечно, не говорит, и никогда не говорил.

Поскольку никакой критерий не приведен, фраза про санкции не значит вообще ничего. Другое дело, что просто взять и отменить часть санкций Трампу, самому по себе, хоть и возможно, но затруднительно.

Целых twice, huh? Путин говорит, что он объяснил Трампу, что Россия ни при чем, и Трамп с ним согласился. У Трампа было достаточно времени, чтобы просто сказать (как угодно вежливо), что это не соответствует действительности. Он этого не сделал, а вместо этого снова добавил бред про "Questions were asked about why the CIA & FBI had to ask the DNC 13 times for their SERVER, and were rejected" и про Обаму. Asked by whom? Путин интересовался? Путин может, конечно, ему не впервой вопросы задавать.

Trump’s Son Met With Russian Lawyer After Being Promised Damaging Information on Clinton

President Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., was promised damaging information about Hillary Clinton before agreeing to meet with a Kremlin-connected Russian lawyer during the 2016 campaign, according to three advisers to the White House briefed on the meeting and two others with knowledge of it.

The meeting was also attended by his campaign chairman at the time, Paul J. Manafort, and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner. Mr. Manafort and Mr. Kushner only recently disclosed the meeting, though not its content, in confidential government documents described to The New York Times.

Рубио (его твит приведен в записи по ссылке), Маккейн, Грэм вполне откровенно называют эту идею Трампа идиотизмом. Грэм на Meet the Press особенно откровенно выступил (видео ниже), и не только про unit, а и вообще об отношении Трампа к России.

Но дальше-то что? Практически наверняка, как дойдет дело до дела, все эти сенаторы стеной встанут на защиту Трмапа.
