О разделении детей и родителей
По-моему, это очень хороший пример того, о чем говорится в моей предыдущей записи, "Having it both many ways".

It’s almost impossible to even debate the policy in this circumstance. If one side says it’s a deterrent, one side says it’s an unavoidable accident, and a third says it’s technically not happening, and they’re all the same side, there’s no way to actually discuss the merits.

Trump reminded them the crowds loved his rhetoric on immigrants along the campaign trail. Acting as if he were at a rally, he recited a few made-up Hispanic names and described potential crimes they could have committed, such as rape or murder. Then, he said, the crowds would roar when the criminals were thrown out of the country — as they did when he highlighted crimes by illegal immigrants at his rallies, according to a person present for the exchange and another briefed on it later. Miller and Kushner laughed.

Что касается Пуэрто Рико, то там из-за неадекватной помощи после урагана Мария погибли, по всей вероятности, тысячи людей (американских граждан).
В свое время у Буша упала популярность из-за неадекватной помощи после урагана Катрина. Но Трампу это не грозит.
