Сегодня был получен ответ на вопрос Поздравит ли Трамп Путина?

Трамп Путина поздравил. Причем в записи по ссылке, еще до поздравлений, мне говорили, что ну как не поздравить, традиция такая, да и Обама Путина в 2012 году поздравил.

Теперь мы знаем, что это все ерунда. Советники Трампа (которые знают о традициях больше, чем Трамп) специально инструктировали Трампа НЕ поздравлять Путина с победой на выборах во время сегодняшнего телефонного звонка.

President Trump did not follow specific warnings from his national security advisers when he congratulated Russian President Vladi­mir Putin Tuesday on his reelection, including a section in his briefing materials in all-capital letters stating “DO NOT CONGRATULATE,” according to officials familiar with the call.

Trump also chose not to heed talking points from aides instructing him to condemn Putin about the recent poisoning of a former Russian spy in the United Kingdom with a powerful nerve agent, a case that both the British and U.S. governments have blamed on Moscow.

Ну, вот как это объяснить? Самое доброжелательное объяснение -- это, наверное, "Трамп вообще не смотрел на briefing materials". Но это же совсем идиотизм какой-то.

Теперь о самом факте поздравлений. Да, Обама тоже поздравил Путина в 2012 году. Обама сделал это позже и формулировка была несколько другой. Но это excuses, Обама был тогда неправ. Как неправы сейчас все западные политики, которые поздравили Путина.

Но черт даже с ними с поздравлениями. Более важно другое. (via tijd)

Но даже черт с ним, с лицемерием. Многие спрашивают, что Россия выиграла от избрания Трампа. Сам по себе отказ президента США от критики ситуации с правами человека в России, отказ от критики того, как в России проводятся выборы уже существенный выигрыш для России.

12 марта Никки Хейли в ООН пригрозила действиями в ответ на использование химического оружия в Сирии.

We welcome all nations that will work together to finally provide relief for the Syrian people, and we support the United Nations political process that seeks to end the war in Syria. However, we also warn that any nation that is determined to impose its will through chemical attacks and inflicting human suffering, most especially the outlaw Syrian regime, the United States remains prepared to act if we must. It is not the path we prefer, but it is a path we have demonstrated we will take. We are prepared to take it again.

В ответ начальник Генштаба Валерий Герасимов заявил, что готовится чудовищная провокация с подставными актерами.

"В нескольких районах Восточной Гуты собрана массовка из привезенных из других районов женщин, детей и стариков, которым предстоит изображать жертв химического инцидента. Там уже находятся активисты "белых касок" и съемочные группы с аппаратурой спутниковой видеотрансляции", - сказал он. После провокации США намерены обвинить в применении химического оружия правительственные войска Сирии. "В качестве ответной меры Вашингтон планирует нанести ракетно-бомбовый удар по правительственным кварталам Дамаска", - сказал Герасимов.

Если плохому танцору что-то и мешает, то это санкции против путинского режима, принятые Конгрессом почти единогласно.

Сколько еще ждать "усмирения зарвавшегося" ? В понедельник Россия заблокировала заседание СБ ООН о ситуации с правами человека в Сирии - первый случай процедурного блокирования повестки дня за последние 55 лет. В результате не услышала, к чему приводит нарушение этих прав.
