Karl Rove and fire and fury!

Никогда не употреблял этой фразы с "Карл!", но тут она уместна. И потому что Роув Карл, и, главное, потому что это ни в какие ворота не лезет.
Я смотрел сегодня "Sunday with Chris Wallace" на Fox News. Wallace -- нормальный ведущий, и передача, в общем, OK.
Как на всех воскресных передачах, там есть panel discussion, одним из участников которой сегодня был Карл Роув. Ведущий спросил его про Северную Корею, и вот что, в частности, сказал Роув. (Полное видео ниже, но его, возможно, удалят.)
Роув же говорит, что Ким Чем Ын угрожал ударить по Гуаму, но Трамп рассказал о fire and fury, и Ким Чен Ын одумался. Гамбит Трампа сработал! То есть Роув приписывает Трампу абсолютно вымышленную победу.
Интересно, что в комментариях к моей записи "bullets dipped in pigs’ blood" сразу несколько трампистов рассказывали мне то же самое, что говорит Роув. Но даже эти трамписты не решались явно сказать, что Трамп сказал про fire and fury после угрозу Ким Чен Ына ударить по Гуаму.
И вот что еще. Я практически уверен, что Роув не врет сознательно. У него в голове смешались разные факты и даты. И это еще даже, пожалуй, хуже, чем если бы он сознательно врал. Потому что даты могут перепутаться, но, чтобы они перепутались таким образом, нужно было, чтобы в какой-то момент Роув искренне решил, что Трамп одержал победу над Северной Кореей.
Роув, вроде, считается каким-то мудрым республиканским стратегом ведь...

I think they do crave attention, and so you don't want to give them attention unless it's necessary. I have to say but I think President Trump did the right thing when they were talking about launching missiles towards the US territory Guam and that's when he made the fire and fury comment and that's where Mattis said and you fire a missile at a US territory it is an act of war. And what happened? The president's gambit worked, they dropped the plan to launch the missiles towards Guam and instead shot three intermediate range missiles and short-range missiles off into the ocean. So who cares? And I think so it was the right response when they were sayinng we are threatening US territory, right response today to say we are not paying much attention to you shhooting off short-range missiles and we knew you had the capacity to do so already.Кстати, многие ли из читающих это помнят, что последовательность событий была противоположной той, которую представил Роув? July 4 - North Korea claims it has conducted its first successful test of an intercontinental ballistic missile, or ICBM, that can "reach anywhere in the world."
July 25 - North Korea threatens a nuclear strike on "the heart of the US" if it attempts to remove Kim Jong Un as Supreme Leader, according to Pyongyang's state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
The US and South Korea responded by holding a joint missile drill to counteract North Korea's "destabilizing and unlawful actions," a US Army statement said.
North Korea conducted a second ICBM test on July 28, which South Korea's joint chiefs of staff said was more advanced than the July 4 launch.
