Key point missing in discussion of POTUS’ comments: He is a desperate, desperate man. Once he leaves office, he has NO protection from prosecution. He’s advertising that he’ll cheat to win, because that’s his only way to keep his butt out of jail.

I mean that we only know what is public information now. And what is public information is already bad, but there could be much more that we don't know yet.

As for the tweet, you have the whole thing in front of you. I don't have any additional information.

Well, she doesn't seem to offer any new information and she has no way of knowing directly whether he's is desperate or not. It's her guess at best and wishful thinking at worst. So far, he's been fairly successful at fighting off all the investigations and subpoenas thrown at him.

Instead of acknowledging this ugly reality, she makes a bunch of unsupported claims because she's desperate to see the rule of law applied to the President. But clearly, he's above the law. He can't be indicted; he can't be removed from the office through the impeachment process; he can't be held accountable for all his lies and cheating. And he wouldn't resign like Nixon did. Her only hope is that he'll be held accountable after he leaves the office, which is another piece of wishful thinking. Trump 1 - Constitution 0.

This is a pretty aggressive argument from DOJ, basically saying that Congress is lying about its purpose for wanting the president's tax returns and that as a result, the IRS need not provide them even though the statute doesn't require Congress to have *any* reason. pic.twitter.com/u4xzzz5pPN

Perhaps it's time to close the Office of Legal Counsel. It no longer provides objective legal advice to resolve difficult questions. Instead, it serves as the legal propaganda arm of the White House--giving it legal cover for ridiculous political decisions. https://t.co/DBUmCfnaRb

Mr. Engel graduated summa cum laude from Harvard and received a master's degree in history from Cambridge, where he was a Knox Fellow. He received his law degree from Yale. His mother teaches classes for academically gifted students at Yeshiva Har Torah, a Jewish middle school in Bayside, Queens. His father is the president of the Langsam Property Services Corporation, a real estate management business in the Bronx.
