Скажите, если в США в суде может представлять интересы стороны кто угодно, зачем юристы после окончания юридических школ сдают квалификационные экзамены и получают лицензии на практику в определенном штате?

Если погуглите фразу "who can represent you in court?", вывалятся ссылки о том, что представлять интересы в суде может или само физ лицо (если оно является стороной), или адвокат, имеющий лицензию на практику в определенном штате:

in order to represent another person in court, you would be considered to be "practicing law" and that would require that you be licensed to practice in the jurisdiction in which your friend's case is being heard. This is, in most states, at least a misdemeanor crime, and in some states a felony.
